[vc_row][vc_column css=».vc_custom_1605296603481{padding-top: 10px !important;}»][vc_column_text]¿Cómo se consolidó el proyecto del Estado Nacional Colombiano? ¿Cuál fue el aporte de la región cucuteña a ese extraordinario pero inconcluso proyecto de Estado Nacional? ¿Cuál fue el legado que dejaron aquellas laboriosas generaciones decimonónicas, que desde los valles de Cúcuta y sus montañas aledañas llevaron, gracias al comercio del café y el infalible rol de los extranjeros, la naciente república a hallar un espacio y reconocimiento en el concierto del mundo?
El café se constituyó a mediados del siglo XIX en el motor de la economía regional y nacional. Nació su agroindustria en Villa del Rosario y San José de Cúcuta, merced al próspero asiento que tuvieron los primeros cafetos traídos desde las montañas tachirenses en estos valles, en las postrimerías del periodo hispánico. Don Gervasio Rubio, en el Táchira, y Don Pedro Chaveau, en el Rosario, registran exportaciones del aromático grano desde la Plaza de San José ya desde 1803.
Luego, el nutrido asentamiento de extranjeros con sus casas de comercio y negocios diversos, además del ímpetu de los cucuteños, consolidan una urbe cosmopolita y moderna, aunque no muy educada. Se abren caminos, se amplía la frontera agrícola, florecen nuevos asentamientos y la población aumenta vertiginosamente.

Si la República nació en Villa del Rosario, entonces porque la Academia de Historia de Norte de Santander, en cabeza de su director, se la querían robar la sede del Bicentenario y llevarselo para San José de Cucuta?
Me imagino al director de la Academia de Historia de Norte de Santander, en el peldaño más alto en la maga Celebración del Bicentenario, sin darle excusas a los Rosarienses, pues creo que para que la Academia de Historia de Norte de Santander, recupere su Honorabilidad, debe darles excusas a la Capital de la República de Colombia 1821.
